written clips

All written clips are from 2007 when I worked as an intern for both the Arizona Republic (Phoenix, AZ) and the Trentonian (Trenton, N.J.)

Rubino Academy - Michael Meisberger was just one of many helped by Mercer County, N.J.'s Rubino Academy. For what has now been nearly 12 years, the alternative high school provides a second chance to those left behind by the schooling system. For The Trentonian.

The Next Decade of Your Life - On the morning of her 20th birthday, Arizona State sophomore Carol Kestenbaum was shot and killed alongside her childhood friend. This story hit a personal chord, as many friends knew Carol personally. For The Arizona Republic.

Glendale Mourns Slain Officer - On Feb. 19, 2007, 24-year-old police officer Anthony Holly was shot and killed during a routine traffic stop. On this story, I served as the lead reporter in-field, conducting interviews with friends, neighbors, and shaken police officers after the loss of someone close. For The Arizona Republic.

Ewing's Dirty Secrets - When the Ewing, N.J. police department sold their aging comptuers, they forgot to do one important thing - permenantly erase the hard drives. Three years later, dozens of internal memos and evidence suggesting that police computers were used to visit pornographic websites surfaced when the computers fell into the hands of two men looking to make an example. For The Trentonian.
