In 2006, Jamaal Perry was the toast of Newark - the four-year quarterback on the state champion Weequahic High School football team. In October 2009, Perry was dead – shot in the head in St. Peter's Park, just a block away from the field where his legend grew.
New Jersey does its part to bring medical supplies to Haiti

It started with just a few e-mails, but in a week New Jersey has raised over $100,000 worth of medical supplies to be sent to Haiti. The Ambulatory Surgical Center of Union County is the state’s main drop-off point, but donations are being accepted all over New Jersey, at places like Kingley Health in Piscataway.
Chris Christie defeats Jon Corzine to become 55th governor of New Jersey

In a closely contested race, Republican candidate and former U.S. Attorney Chris Christie defeated incumbent Jon Corzine in the race for New Jersey governor. He announced his acceptance in Parsippany, New Jersey before a room of several hundred.
A mother fights for her son’s school

Nearly every day Jocelyn Reyes of Elizabeth has been protesting to keep her son's school open. New Jersey plans to close 18 schools for disabled and troubled children by June 2010. Without the school, Reyes says her son will regress.

Seven bodies, helicopter pulled from Hudson River after fatal crash

National Transportation Safety Board Commissioner Debbie Hersman announced that seven bodies, as well as part of the helicopter involved in August's crash had been recovered from the Hudson River. The helicopter collided with a plane over the river, killing 9 people aboard the two aircrafts.
