"Remittance"

December 2007; Run Time: 12:45

**part of the project that won the 2009 Robert F. Kennedy Award for College Journalism**

"Remittance" is a 13-minute documentary shot in Guatemala City and Los Angeles California. It follows a family who has been torn apart by immigration. Thanks to a video service called Amigo Latino, this family is able to see each other once again - albeit on a television screen. For this project, I served as the videographer in Guatemala city, and the executive editor, compiling the documentary from over 7 hours of footage.

"Death of an Avenue"

February 2009; Run Time: 12:05

Today, Trenton's Walnut Avenue is a modern-day slum. Its street is filled with boarded up houses, piles of trash and a broken community. But Dion Clark tells a different story. His family has lived on Walnut Ave. for over 50 years and has seen it through its slow deterioration. This story was compiled along with the Trentonian's award winning reporter L.A. Parker.
